Default Check Engine Lght:17125 Torque Converter Clutch: Stuck off/no power being transferred

Hi -- I would really appreciate some help.

I have a 2002 Audi A4 quattro 2.8L with approx 91,000 miles. Last week the check engine light came on -- my mechanic cleared it and said we should wait to see if it comes on again -- which unfortunately it did a few days ago. Here are the codes:

18032 - MIL Request Signal Active (check TCM for errors tool)
P1624-008 - Implausible Signal

17125 - Torque Converter Clutch: Stuck Off / No Power being transferred
P0741-003 - Mechanical Failure - Intermittant - MIL ON

Can you please help with:

1) Is the car safe to drive as is, or could I be damaging it? I have an out of town 600 mile trip this weekend and am worried about driving the car.

2) What do you think the problem is? My mechanic said it could be anything from a software update to a potential transmission problem. Has anyone had experience with these codes? Would appreciate any advice!!

Thank you!
