Default Engine coolant

What do you guys use for your engine coolant? Is it safe to put an additive from Royal Purple that lowers the temperature of the coolant. Anybody using this additive?

I would stay away from additives in general. 50/50 G12 engine coolant and distilled water is the only thing you should really have in there.

You can also use Yellow that replaces any antifreeze. Global Extended Life Antifreeze.

I wouln't trust anything other than pink G12 in my coolant system. It's only 20 bucks a gallon and lasts for years. A small investment if you ask me.

The money saved isn't worth the risk. Given the cost of replacing the parts vs the potential saving of a few bucks on antifreeze, I would stay with G12.

There are many different coolents with different chemical properties. Audi's come with Pentosin G12, therefor that's what I use. I see no reason to risk my cars cooling system to save 41 cents a month by using the cheap stuff.

Sounds good. thanks. I never knew that before. sorry if it sounded like I was being a jerrk about it. I was just curious as to why G12 was the best for AUDI. thanks again Jest
