the engine managent light has come on my A4 1.8T SE auto. I do have a reverse gear problem but this was there well before the light came on. Do i have to take it to an audi dealership or can i take it to a normal garage.Is there anyway i can find out why it has come on and turn it off. I live in Somerset, UK. just in case anyone on here can help me sort it out. Thanks

If you mean the check engine light, any garage with an OBDII scanner can read the code.

As you are also having transmission problems, find someone with a VAGCOM using the vagcom locator link
