If 5W40 Syn is not available - what should I use?

Do you have an owners manual?? It will usually give you an alternative oil vsicocity to use if the prefered is not available.
For oil brands, check the thread that was posted yesterday about what oil brands people use.. It was a poll.

Thanks - the car originated in Quebec so the manual is in French and no use to me unfortunately.

I will check out that poll.

New Brunswick...lots of VW but very few Audis in this area.
