Default Engine Performance! Question!

Curious what would happen if I took off the plastic peice on top of my engine.. It seems like it makes the engine hotter than its needs to be, plus I could lose some weight. Is this true, I just thought about this and was wondering if people take them off for performance benefits... if not dont bash me! trying to think smart here

The top's are all cosmetic you will gain nothing by keeping them on or off.

You think that by removing the plastic cover that will do anything... Less weight?? Its not even noticeable with it off or on... And as for air flow there will be on diff I promise.. There will be no gains either way
