RE: Entering the radio code
its in the manual - your radio manual to be exact - also post what kind of radio you have - not sure if that matters but I have a symphony and I know there is a concert, don't know what the difference is

RE: Entering the radio code
I clicked the little button at the top of the page that says search - I entered in "Radio Code steps" here is a copy of what I found in 3 minutes.
Turn on radio. The radio display shows "SAFE". Press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until "1000" shows on the display. Release the buttons. Do NOT press these buttons again, otherwise the radio will consider "1000" to be the code. Use Preset buttons 1 ... 4 to enter the four-digit code number from your radio card. Preset button 1 corresponds to the first digit, Preset button 2 corresponds to the second digit, etc. Each press of the button increments the number by 1. Once the code shown on the display is correct, press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until the word "SAFE" appears in the display, then release the buttons. The radio should unlock and be usable shortly afterwards. If an incorrect code is entered, the word "SAFE" appears, first flashing and then continuously. You can repeat the above steps to unlock the radio once more, the number of attempts will be shown in the display. If an incorrect code is entered again, you radio will be locked for about one hour. After one hour - the radio must stay on and the key must remain in the ignition lock - if the display goes out, the you can repeat the above procedure to unlock again. The cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up - still applies. If you lose your radio code, contact your Audi dealer. Note: Some European market Concert radios have a TP button instead of the FM2 button, so the description above with those units would require pressing the TP and the RDS buttons simultaneously. |
RE: Entering the radio code
Holy sh*t! You can actually find stuff by searching?!

Hey, I searched for 30 minutes and I could not find the steps to enter the code for the Navi Plus RNS-D. I got the code but no idea on the steps.

I recently bouight a 2001 Audi Allroad that has a later model Symphony installed, the type where 6 cds can be loaded directly into the radio without using the cd changer in the back of the car.
Recently, I changed the battery and now the radio is in safe mode. I have read mutliple threads on the procedures to enter the security code but I can't even get to that step. It's simply stuck on SAFE, I am at a loss. My friend told me I may need to flach the ECN with a ross-tech vag com. Also, the radio lights behind the buttons do not work or the steering wheel controls such as volume etc. The LED does work though. Not sure if this factors in or not. Any ideas? |

Your local audi adviser at the dealer might walk you through it but I found instructions in my symphony manual where the code is. Mine is the rear cargo load so its not likely the same.
