Exhaust for 1998 A4

Hey, My name is JW, im turning 16 this winter and my dad bought me a 1998 audi a4 that we are totally customizing. and we are starting this project Sept 1st. I have most of my parts picked out already. But one thing that i am having a hard time finding is the exhaust system. I need to know what kind of exhaust system sounds best on the a4. Also, when we bought the a4 the stereo says safe on it....and we typed in the code to unlock it but it still says safe, does anybody know how to fix that. I will probly post alot during this project ....its about a 8 month project because i get my licence in june of 06, and we are starting in Sept of this year. Also what is a easy way to add some horsepower to the car. Well thanks for the help

easy and cheap horsepower gain is always a chip. (GIAC or APR)

Its a V6 so a chip won't do much at all.

Thanks, I just checked those out, they look like thast what i will do. I am going mostly for looks, but i want some power too :D but it has the sport suspension on it, would that be good to keep on there, or is aftermarked lowering kits better than those? I took it out the other day, and it handles like a dream. I have the 5 speed so its fun to drive, I just cant wait to get started working on it, my dad told me that its my job to find all the parts and everything so thats why its comming down to the line and i need to find a few more parts.

The stock sport suspension isn't all that great for performance. I would go for an aftermarket setup.

Ok, which brands do you recommend? and if i keep the sport suspension would it be ok just to drive, or is it just crappy? and what would be the best exhaust for it. I look everywhere and its hard to find one, plus i dont know what a good sounding one is.

No the sport suspension is fine for every day driving. What do you plan to do with the car? Track it? Also is wheel gap an issue for you? Some people like the look of a really lowered car. Whats your budget? You could spend 300-3500 bucks.

Well, I wasnt really planning on tracking the car, but it was a issue that i thought of. and as far as the price, for a full system probly as high as 2 grand.....and i was thinking of tracking it, but i have school, a job, and i dont know if i would have time, so i think for this first customization i dont know if it would be worth the money to spend now, when i probly wont do it until im out of school
