a few ?'s for ou guys
Heres a few newb ?'s for you guys, and yes i have used the search button. Well the a/c isnt really blowing out cold air, I assume it just needs to be charged but i figured i would ask in case there is some common problem that happens. Second the buttons on the steering wheel what the hell do they do. I assume radio and mine are just broke, just wondering if it could be anything else. Last ?, i know two other people wiht b5 a4's like mine. Not one of are cars can we set the cruise control. Is this a common problem audi builds crap cruise controllers or is there some secret that i dont know to set it.
info about the car would help...try getting the ac recharged with a lil bit of iodine in there, if you have a leak you can spot where its coming from with a black light, and if not you dont need to worry about it. need to know car info for the other ?s
AC probably needs recharging.
Is it a Tiptronic? If it is, the buttons are used for controlling the transmission in tiptronic mode.
The cruise control switches often get dirty/fail in the B5s, cleaning or replacing the switch should fix the problem.
What year/engine/tranny/quattro?

yah the buttons on the steering wheel is for shifting up and down for the tiptronic (i assume thats what you have)..... only can use them when its in manual mode.... also you may not be using the cruise control right. When you want to use it do you push the side button in for 1...2 seconds?? Sometimes it takes a second to set
yeah sorry im a dumbass, forgot to to put down the car info. Its an 00 a4 1.8t tiptronic. Ive held down the button for a long time, short time everything i could think of it just dont work. oh well ill trouble shoot the wires make sure they are working. If they are ill replace the switch. Thats pretty cool about the tiptronic thanks for the help.
