They are usually thicker. I'll measure the RaceTec core for you when I go home.

Good ole SSAutochrome would do the trick, just dont get one that is too large. Overkill= turbo lag.

couldnt you just lengthen the pipe a little to make it fit better
around the radiator mount. Maybe like a spacer or somehting?

No not realy as you would then have to mess with another pipe to get it to work but on top of that you guys would have a smog pump in the way which I don't have over here.
