Front door speakers?

My driver's side door speaker is blown, or something.. It doesn't really sound blown, but it's definitely making an annoying buzz/rattle noise.

I took the door apart yesterday hoping it was just a poor connection, because that's what the audi dealership told us. Nothing I tried to improve the connection helped.. So I hooked up an extra aftermarket speaker from my celica I had laying around, and the sound was fine. I would just use that speaker but it's way too big, and the sound quality is that great anyway.

So what would you recomend for a new set of speakers? I don't want to buy some crap from wal mart like I did with the celi haha.. I want a nice upgrade since the passenger side sometimes makes the noise as well.

I also might consider replacing the rear deck speakers with some that'll give it more of a 'kick' if I can find a good set for a decent price.

thanks.

yup, try some better speakers they would make the sound alot better. go for some name brand speakers like peerless, dls, focal, etc. I would recommend a sub even a small one would probably be better than rear ones.

Upgrading your speakers will make a world of difference..............

check the classified section, if someone is parting out a car, you may be able to pick up a stock set of speakers at a good price, and you know they will fit at least.

Yeah.. But I never really liked the quality of the stock system.. and I gues I like going by the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix, if it is broke upgrade!!" haha.

jl audio has some nice door speakers, and you can get the mount to make it a 5 1/4 instead of 4 (i think its a 4)

in the doors, bose comes with 5 1/4" but have a special mount so your not gona be able to install most 5 1/4" speakers w/out modifying it a bit

It's not the bose.. it's a 3.5 or maybe 4" (if it's lucky) speaker.

EDIT: i've been looking on crutchfield, and none of the speakers they look like they'll fit without an adapter, since almost all of them have 4 screw holes, while this one has 3. Where can I get an adapter to use these speakers?

after I saw the brand it seemed like I remembered reading good things about polks.

and for the sake of sticking with the same brand, I'm thinking about getting these for the rear deck.

I recently replaced the front Bose speakers with Alpine's SPS-10C2. They're 4" speakers and sound great. I used cardboard from a moving box to make a bracket :).
