Default Fuel Problem

I just got my daughter an A4 1997 Q with 104,000 miles on it. well, it's in the shop. We have been having problems with the starting and running then try to start and it won't later it starts and it won't. 2 days ago we were driving and it died. pulled over and waited a minute and it started. Anybody have any idea's? I'm new to Audi's, my turbo 850 never gives me any problems and it has 175,000 miles.

Well it's in the shop. The were able to drive it into the shop and then it won't start. Luckily it's happened to them. They think it maybe in the fuel relay. I really don't know if the with the fuel filter. I was about to replaced that yesterday but the car died instead.

It's still in the shop, they say they traced it from the fuel pump to the fuel relay and had no power. They are getting another ECU for it. Any ideas as to cost or if this is correct.
