Fuse Box
So i was driving at the beach when both my headlights went out...when i flicker my high beams they work, but nothing besides that...is it a fuse problem??? cant even find my fuse box. its a 1998 A4. Please Help!!!
Open the driver's door all the way. It's the kidney shaped end cap for the dash assembly (don't know what it's really called). Just pry it off with your fingers, it's spring clipped in. I wouldn't think the high beams would be on a separate circuit from the regular lights though, but I don't know, never had that problem.
Don't think it a fuse problem.
When you turn on the headlights, do your side lights and rear lights go on? If so, that rules out the switch. (you could also check the bulbs, Both mine blew within a day of each other.)
If nothing works, but highbeams, I'd check the switch contacts. Get some contact cleaner or TV tuner cleaner from radio shack and spray it in the contacts.
