Default Gas Cap Lock!!! need help..

Hey Fellas, got a quick question.
You know when you lock or unlock the car with the FOB, it also locks and unlocks the gas cap. Whenever my gas cap locks or unlocks it makes this awful noise and it's very irritating. it makes the noise when the pin is going in or out. Is there anyway to get to the motor and oil it or possibly replace it. And if I did decide to replace it, does anybody have any idea how much it would cost me.

Thank you in advance

Your gas door lock is not a motor it's actually a pneumatic cylinder opperated by a pump in the trunk. Wierd Germans. I would lock the car with the door open and put something like foosball table rod lube on the cylinder, then lock and unlock a few times to see if that helps.

What? Are you sure its not a solenoid that is simply powered with electricity. I would be very surprised if they were trying to power it with pneumatics, but you never know.

Anyway, I would do as bishop said to get the rod out. Then wipe the rod down with a clean rag or towel, then spray with light coat of oil.

If you have to replace it, you may need to remove the fender, not sure.
