Hii ALL

Im gettin a code 17090...

when i put my car in reverse PRND go out when i put it in neutrol they start flashing after a lil while it returns to nornal??

wuts goin on?

2002 a4 1.8 t auto tip

Your car is going into transmission limp mode, and your post with yourhorriblespellingis usless, learn the english language.:eek:
You need to change the PRNDL switch board under the shifter assembly.;)

I don't think its that bad, maybe 200-300 range. Just pop up the trim around the shifter, then pop out the four clips around the shifter and lift up the chrome piece around the shifter. That entire piece is what you are changing.

No, its the entire assembly, it has two switches, and a set of magnetic brushes that brush accross the sensor matt that tells the TCM what gear you are in. So if you remove that big chrome plated cover under the shifter you will see an electronic circuit board underneath that, thats what you are replacing, it comes as a whole unit, switches and sensor.
