It maybe on the receipt, if not it should be on the eprom, the actaul chip. But that means you have to open the inside of the ecu box to find out. Much easier to ask the installer.

 

Yeah i just have one program.. The updates include debuggers, and its just like updating your computer programs because they find out ways to make it better or more reliable. Some of the older chips werent very reliable from what ive read and the engineers/programers just keep getting smarter which is why there are updates and very reliable chips such as giac and apr.

 

Well i got flashed so there wouldnt be an acutal chip soldered on the ecu to read i dont think. You think the installer keeps those records huh?

They should, if you call and ask them what version they gave you they may have it or ask what version would you give for example on a 99 ndbw frontrak 557p ecu box, but in you car specifics.

 

flash means the just load a new progam on to the ecu and nothing is physically add like peices. soldering is when the physicall add a new chip and sodder it in

flashing is where they either hook up a laptop to your OBD port and do the programing that way, or they take the ecu out of the car for a bench flash which is pretty much the same thing, but they hook up directly to the ecu, bench flash costs more labor$.. For my 2000 i got bench flashed , pre 2000 i think you have to get it soldered on.. Later than 2000 i think they can just hook up through your obd port under the dash. Something like that.
