I am going to the dealer to get a new coolant temp sensor becuase I am sure I have the old one and it may be giving me troubles. It might be the reason for my bad gas mileage. Anyway, since I am going to be there anyway, is there any other little things that I could/should pick up as a good thing to change, as either preventative or just good maintenance?

Make sure you get a new O ring and retaining clip for the temp sensor. Might want to get a couple clips in case you drop the first one and it gets lost in the depths of the engine bay. I always pick up a few small screw type hose clamps while im there. They are very high quality and not too expensive. You never know when youre gunna have to replace a hose that uses those stupidone time use hose clamps.

Yeah I was planning on gettign a couple O rings and clips. thanks for the reminder though

Is there different sized hose clamps I should get?

OH YEAH and in that thread about 10 sec Giac chip that is right below my thread, thebishop tells him him to get a 5' vac line that goes from the intake manifold to the DV, that is the line I spliced my bosot gauge into also. Is that tube something you get from the dealer? That might help since I think Ihave a boost leak... IDK

I just get whatever the smallest clamps they have. About the size of your pinky.
If youre replacing the dv vac line, 5 feet should be more than enough. But Id probably get more like 8ft if you ever plan on replacing other lines. My FPR vac line was all crusty when i did my vac lines too, but thats only about 3 inches of line. When I replaced my dv vac line I held boost much longer, i didnt bother checking for leaks, i just changed it.

Yeah that is a good idea, I am getting my 710N in a couple days so while I'm at it I'll just switch out the line. So besides the dv to manifold line and the small FPR line what other lines are there that you were talking about? And you used screw type clamps to hold them on? The smallest screw type hose clamp I have seen doesn't seem like it could get small enough to hold on those tiny vac lines. Or are the vac lines that I pick up from the dealer thicker so they will stay on?

I dont know about the Vag lines i donthave a turbo but depending on how many miles you have on your car you may want to swap out the fuel filter, i am doing that this weekend when the parts come in.

Here is a pic of where i replaced one time use clamps with screw clamps. I use zip ties on the small vac lines:

You really dont need clamps on vac lines, but its good insurance just incase. Most of your vac lines will have teeny one time use clamps on them, but they arent necessary.

ya, pretty simple. as long as its a vac line and not a boost line, there is really not chance of it getting blown off.
