got Forge

hey guys i got my forge valve today and installed it. I was expecting and hoping for (but it is not the reason for purchase) more noise from the turbo, but its just as close to silent as it has always been. is this how it's supposed to be?

Yeah thats normal. Chipping will most likely give you what you need soundwise. Intakes definetly do the trick but arent really recommended.

yeah.. it's really the stock air box that muffles the sound.

an open cone type intake will make your forge dv sound the way i think you want.

well, my car IS chipped, but i dont have an intake.

why isnt it recommended? is there any kind of an intake kit that will do me any good?

well it isnt reccomended for 2 reasons. #1 the oiled filter may clog ur MAF and #2 they have a tendency to just suck hot air, defeating the purpose of even having an intake.

Yeah, intakes do make everything a lot louder though... I dunno, I am terrified of making my car noisy.

Well, I'm most likely getting an Intake soon enough. Just a K&N cone Filter with a Homebrew HeatShield that Offroader made on the zine.

I'll let you know how it sounds and if i see(feel) any performance loss.

Edit:

From some people who have already done what I'm going to do they said stuff along the lines of:
Faster spool time of around 100 to 300 rpm.
Louder DV
and better Throttle response
