joined couple of months ago.. posting now


Just purchased a 2001 A4 2.8 Q Sports package ..... and its amazing, one thing gotta say its the powerfull machine...
i am from newmarket ontario canada... how many ppl are from toronto area... i like this forums and by reading all post on the fourms .. i think my questions will be answered correctely. lol

First question i had was ... i just put in after market stereo in my a4... first thing is the factory speakers have better amp hooked up then stock one powering them but u hear like speaker poping ... i think it is the speakers its self but i wanted to get a second opinion ... .. any one ...

second thing is i got no radio station coming threw the deck its self... only rarely some times...... i have used the antenna adapater that was recommend for my car... and still no go. any tips on how to fix this

ur speakers should be easy to replace. as for the radio, i have the same prob and have no idea how to remedy it. also when i push the defrost button sometimes i get better reception. weard huh? well anyways congradulations on the purchace, u will have loads of fun.

 

o yea by the way when you put the new deck in what you did was add more power to the stock system so it sounds like what happened is u blew youre stock speakers which arent designed to take what ammount of power u are dishing out. just replace the speakere with some aftermarkets, like i said before it is really easy, just some screws and a bit of soder and ull be set. i recomend infinity, i had good luck with them in the past, but therre are many other good brands out there.

i luv my new ride its fast and smooth... anyways i replaced my speakers and took care of that problem... but i still dont have radio... i listen to radio more then cd's alomost all the time.. its sucks i spended $ 1000 canadain on in dash dvd with 6.5 inch screen which works and looks good but has no radio... and is there a harness kit for audi a4 i didn't like splicing that was done to stock harness ... .. i hate doing that.. but if there is a harness available plz let me now... any radio suggestion too

I put a pioneer unit in my car and i didnt get a radio signal with it. I had to buy a signal booster which just plugs into the antenna cable. Now i get a good signal. The stock unit must have a booster built into it.
