Default Grase sprayed all inside wheel and on caliper...

When i got my new tires put on i noticed there was grease sprayed all up in the inside of the wheel and on the brake caliper and stuff. I did some investigating, and noticed that it came from the booted (I THINK it's the cv joint) part right behind the brake disc on the axle. Is that the CV? I tried a search but nothin came up, just curious if it's a bad thing or can be lived with, and if it's a hard DIY or expenseive part..... Thanks guys.... I'll try to get a pic of it but if anyone knows just post

I've never actually looked at the suspension on my car (I'm going to look now) but I had an older mitsubishi once that had a broken CV boot and it leaked exactly how you are describing. It can be serious and can cause steering failure. I know this doesn't help much but it's all I know.

Yeah man be careful!!!!!!!! If that's what the problem is anyway...I used to spray grease into the crack on my old car b/c it was squeaky as hell otherwise.

i think you need a special tool to get the boot on. it stretches the boot so it can be fit around parts and
get to where it needs to sit. well atleast for my jeep thats what was needed

I think i'm gonna check out the cv tomorrow when it stops rainin, right now I'm still in AWE about my new tires, they're f*ckin AWSOME in the rain.... took a 20 mph corner at 45 in the rain.... with NO tire slippage at all... it was sick. But that cv joint makes me nervous, so I'll check it tomrrow!!!!
