i'm also looking for a mesh grill, but i like the edge to be chrome (not the color of the car)
like in the bottom picture - chrome edge but a mesh grill
also, i would like to make sure the bottom mesh from underneath the bumper) is the same type of mesh as the top grill
i would hate to have two different types of mesh, it would look f**ked up
i think once i get the grills, chip the engine, tint my windows and lower the car a bit, i'm done modifying
the money is flying out of my pockets way 2 quick

this is EXACTLY why i think the RS4 grill is so overrated...sure it would look hot with matching lower grills, but it just looks out of place with the stock finned grills...lower mesh grills are hard to find, it would probably be a custom job, especially on a stock bumper.

I think it looks just fine if you have a rs4 grill and the stock lower grills.

I'm a nOOb, so I have some questions. Anyone know the best (cheapest) place to buy a new grill? Also, I'm looking for a chip, but can't seem to find any for a 2001 2.8.

Responses are much appreciated.
I think you got enough help on the grill.. As for the chip... id go with the AMD Athlon 64FX with the 1600mhz front side bus. That should put you up towards 62 psi 1200hp/3000tq.

O i see you have a 2.8.. Skip the Athlon64fx and go with the Pentium D 800mhz fsb.. If you want to settle for only 632hp/900tq., that is.

wow, where can i get one of these chips? They must be new!!!

I think that the blacked out grill looks phat. DIY on the stock seems most logical to me

Not for nothing, but www.lltek.com has some cool $hyt for a very affordable price.
The mesh grills on their website I personally like, and I think sometime this week I will buy one of them
(Also, listed on the site are some lower mesh grills as well, so at least they will match the upper grill)
As far as putting the mesh onto your stock bumper, that's where the artistry comes in; you need to get that done professionally, or i believe certain people on this forum have done it themselves...but that's definitely my next project: upper and lower mesh grills
