Default grinding sound in first gear (Manual) [:o]

ok so ever since i got my a4(98 2.8 Quattro manual)(90 k miles), there's a sproket/griding sound in first gear.

only when u accelerate in first gear, can hear it outside and inside.

all other gears r fine.

it engages fine, doesn't pop out. even if i dump the clutch, it dones't pop out.

maybe low fluid or what could it be?

thankx

it could be a worn syncro gear kog but not worth the expense to investigate as long as all other gears perform well just live with it and save money, change the gearbox oil and add some molyslip it works wonders
