Today when I got out of class my 97 2.8 was just turning over and over. Finally it started with a HUGE smell of fuel. This has also hapened with my dad when he stalled it . Any ideas? Researching on forums it sounds like it might be related to the MAF sensor. Any thing would be helpful! Thanks

 

Check for codes with a Vagcom. Could be anything from a weak fuel pump, bad ignition module, etc.

 

do u get a cell from this. i also have this problem and it happened after i had my timing belt done and nothin pops up on the vag com at the shop where i had it done.

 

I ran the Vag-com on it. There were no error codes that came up under the engine channel. What should the MAF readings be at on idle?

 

dirty injectors? fuel rail?
