It's no different than the 2.8 sport package.

Ill be doing that soon enuf on a 1.8t. I have the springs and struts. Just have to get all the odds and ends together along with that stupid special tool. Im hoping that since the 1.8 is lighter than the 2.8 and the s4 it will act slightly stiffer than in those cars, which is exactly what im hoping for. Ill post the results when i finally get around to it.

yeah but the boys on AW are saying it will work but the ride will be alot higher because the S4 weighs 300lbs more, and the majority of that weight is in the engine..

the boys on aw are wrong dude, 300lbs isn't going to make it higher at all. think about it this way....how much does an s4 drop when two average sized people (~300lbs) are sitting in it? i'd say, maybe 4-5mm....so figure your car will sit 4-5mm higher than a stock s4....and the stock s4 suspension sits at about the same height as the sport a4 suspension on their respective cars, right? so, if you do the math (my math, anyway), your car should drop a good 15mm from where it sits right now.

Why even bother putting S4 suspension on an A4? It's not like the S4 stock suspension is anything too great. The S4 suspension is tuned for an S and has the wrong spring rates in addition. Having two people sitting in the seats is not the same as having two people sit on the hood. People sitting in the seats would disperse the weight evenly whereas sitting on the hood would put all the weight in the front.

Putting the S4 suspension will raise the car plus the springs will be to stiff to work properly on the 1.8T as has stated they are geared for a much heavier engine.

What you can do is swap out the springs with some unrated items geared for a 1.8T and then it should work a lot better. I will be installing RS4 full suspension in to my 1.8TQ at some point and the first thing that has to go is the springs.

I also have a 2.8 which was lowered with H&R springs when I collected the car I thought it would be lower but like you have to do I waited for them to bed in.
A couple of weeks later I looked at the box they came in only to find they where for an S4. I took the car back and had the correct springs fitted and I gained another 1" plus it felt better.

If the 2.8 & S4 use the same spring then the box would have been labelled so like most products that are used on more than one model so the logic that the S4 suspension would be ok is incorrect, I'm not sure the shocks will be any good but as I have the RS4 set-up I'm going to give it a go.

I have S4 bilsteins and h&rs springs and the car is absoluty slammed, even with all the weight out of the car. The ride is rigid and kinda brutal, but i love the feeling it give you to the road. I have 17s on it and 225/45s tires and cant go any bigger, might have to roll them now.
