you can't just put in a bulb to have xenons. converting to 6000 or 12000k hid's requires a bit of work and a decent amount of money. if you already have projectors im assuming you have a 99.5+, the closest bulb to get the effect you want would be a silverstar or a comparable bulb.(its a simple solution without going the xenon route)

That is right, a xenon system is going to run you some money. ive heard both sides of the story of people telling me that the bulb will be3 fine, but I would go with the whole system.

If u go for the Xenon use the 4300K bulb (Philips or Hella no Asian ones[:'(])and no higher than 4500K, the light output after 4500K reduces therefore to put it simply u wont light up the road at nite as well and u will get 'eye strain'.

There is a reason why Audi uses the 4300K(Philips) Xenon strait out of the factory, coz it gives the best light output: any higher is for 'show' and u will prob get pulled up with 12000K

As for halogen is prob wat u after go for the Philips NightGuide, its got the best ouput and has a slight blue tint to it as well, check out the link

I had the Philips BlueVision and then CrystalVision: but r only for looks and are not good for nite drivin[:@]: re worse light than standard

I've got a 96 quattro. I need to replace my stock bulbs since one burned out. Which bulb would you say is the best for an easy swap. I do not want to spend money replacing the entire highlight system but am willing to spend some money on a good bulb for a quick and easy replacement for the stock housing. Would the NightGuide bulb work for my car without having to upgrade the housing? Thanks

RE: headlight bulb?

to the post above....yes, the bulb will work without upgrading anything.
