Default Headlight Question! newbie inside!

I have had this car for about 5 months, but got my liscense within the last month.

Now that I have my liscense, I have been driving at night much more often and have realized one thing. My headlights suck. The previous owner stated that I have a "custom" 10,000k Xenon Headlight package, but it is near impossible to see at night even with my high beams on.

I know NOTHING about headlights, what are xenons? Do they go bad? This is a 2000 audi a4 1.8T. How much would new Xenons cost w/ installation. I love the blue look during night, but the visibility is awful compared to my parents' cars, which are the stock yellow.

Thanks in advanced, help a newbie!

You might want to invest in some Ecode headlights. They are MUCH MUCH better than U.S. headlights. The light pattern has a more defined light pattern and crisp cuttoff. It was night and day when I had mine.

First, I'd check if you have real Xenon headlights, or just blue bulbs.

Then I'd check to make sure the headlights are aimed.

alright so if I wanted to invest in some new HID bulbs, maybe 5000k, where online can I order them? I talked to a car-friend of mine and he said that I should have gone with 5000k, as they are much brighter.

My parents are willing to pay for them, so what is a good reputable online site to order new bulbs.

Jestnomen, you seem to know alot about hids for our cars. i have a 2002 a4. im looking to purchase hids and have some questions. what is the stock hid kelvin rating? and will my car need any additional wiring with the kits from http://oemhid.com or can i just do it my self? i had 9000k phillips on my last car and installed them myself. just some drilling for screws but that was it. any help=great.

Stock is 4300k. No you don't need any other wiring. There should be some tutorials on oemhid's website too.

id go with anything closest to stock temperature. The greater light output is great esp if you got bad night vision like i do. Ecodes make the difference though
