Help Needed
My car won't start this morning, so i brought it to Les Schwab to change a new battery.
Here is the problem: 1) The battery they gave me is different in physical size, it is smaller than the old one, they insist it has no differences other than the size 2) Can someone give me the specs to the original Audi 2000 A4 1.8T battery? So that I can compare to the one they gave me. Thanks alot guys! Say |
RE: Help Needed
What brand battery did they stick in there? I wouln't worry about it too much.

RE: Help Needed
It is Les Schwab 47 XT Xtreme Power Battery, the right size should be Les Sschwab 48, but they do not have it, and say 47 is the same.
When i turn the key to the first position, before ignition, the battery meter shows 12 volts, when i started the engine, it shows around 14-15 volts. Does this sound right? Thanks. |
RE: Help Needed
Yep, that means your alternator is charging the battery properly. If you read less than 12Volts when the engine is on you have an alternator problem.

RE: Help Needed
You are correct, 48 is the right battery. Check the Cold Cranking Amperes.

RE: Help Needed
The cold cranking amp is about 750, is that # right for Audi A4?
|
RE: Help Needed
750 CCA is good. The 48 battery has a center vent.
