high pitched faint whistle sound
 

hello...

great board...i have received a lot of good info...

i have a 2006 a4 2.0T with 700 miles on it... it is one sah-weet ride ... smooth and powerful...

one question though...

whenever i drive and hit 20 mph, i start to hear a high pitched noise...like a faint whistle or like a faint wind coming through the air vents...it's a high pitched noise that most people may not hear, but i have good hearin...i continue to hear this noise as long as i press the gas and go above 20 mph...is this "turbo whistle?"

i've asked a similar question before, but i think the sound is more high pitched than before...is it because the engine is broken in with 700 miles now?

sounds like turbo to me.

i wouldn't worry about it. your car is new, so the engine and its parts are still "settling."

that noise also can come and go depending on temperature and climate.

i think you're right...i took a friend for a ride and he barely noticed the sound after i pointed it out to him...
