I pulled really hard, and it came out just make sure to catch all the pieces, theres like 2 gears a roller and a bar with a spring thing that will fly out and you need it all to make it work right again or you can take the dash apart and get to the screws that hold the whole thing in there and just take those out

You need to get access to the area just above the cupholder. Youll probably have to remove a trim piece to do it. Then you just push in the releases on the top of the holder near the front. It will just pull right out.

I'm looking at options for adding Sirius to the car....the Sirius "One" is about the size of the cupholder opening, and all functions can be controlled with the remote.

So pulling it out hard, was that a joke? I don't know you at all Badluck, so not sure if that was sarcasm or not....is that really what you did??

Thanks for the replies!

I don't think he was joking, but if you think you might put it back in, I would not go that route. Try taking the trim piece off, and hitting the release sliders...

Ok, so taking the trim and console off, does it all just snap together, to pryed off with a trim puller, or??? (last question I promise)

Yeah, I didn't think he was joking, but if he was, I deserve it for asking such a lame question. This is my first Audi, and I just hate to go tearing the dash apart the wrong way. Ive had so many cars that creak and rattle, and this one is solid, not a noise, so I'm scared to ruin that I guess. Normally, I'd just start ripping parts off to see what happens. I would like to be able to put it back to original though.

Unfortunatly, that's exactly what will happen over time. It's enevitable on all car's... And as the owner, you notice all of the "little" noises the car makes, even if your passanger's don't. [:@]
