I know this has been coverd before, but how fast have you guys top out your A4s up too?


Last night I ran it to 132mph with no downshifting, just rolling off in 5th. I was still climbing but corners on interstates come really fast at 132mph. I was only about 4900rpm and was climbing fast, so I think it could get close to 140mph.

 

it was like 2am and i just watched fast and the furious (yea i was bored) so i took to the streets in my audi, i went on the highway and put it into 5th gear i was somewhere around 135/138ish i didnt get a good look i was to focused on my radar scanner. somewhere around there, the 00-02 s4 top out around 143 stock so a4 couldnt go faster then that stock

 

I've had my 1.8t showing 143 or about that on the clock, speedo is well out at those speeds but it got up there pretty comfortably. Nowhere near the top end pull of my old 6 cylinder BMW but not bad for a 1.8.

 

What are your guys mods?

 

Standard 1.8t with 710n DV.

 

~130 is the top speed for a non-chipped A4 right? Are your tires rated for those speeds? That could get ugly.

 

Yeah I think theres something wrong there, I dont know if i could do 143mph and im chipped and modded. Jest is right,if your tires arent rated for that things could get REALLY ugly REALLT fast. Dont quote me on this, but i think i read somewhere that the apr chip gov is 149. But i doubt it would even make it there.

 

Mine stock top speed is 120 or so and i have got it up to about 138 bobbin and weaving through traffic on the freeway

yes bobbin in and out of traffic at high speed is the funnest thing, especially when i get a friend to do it with u in a sweet car, or find someone else to ride with you. funnest thing
