Default Audi recall/ecu reflash for 2.0T FSI

Has anyone heard of this.I read thatAudi dealers will be calling Audi owners with the 2.0T engines to reflash the ecu's, or reflash the next time you take it in for service. What's gonna happen if the ecu is APR flashed, have it redone and pay again?[&:]

Hmmm...I just did my 20k oil change so I have a bit before the dealer sees my car again. That would suck if everything went back to stock and a code was thrown for my full exhaust. Sheezzz.

It says on therecall that if the flash will erase or cause problems with tuned ecm's the dealer will have to get your permission before performing the flash. Ask what the flash is for and if its an important recall, you have the right to deny it if you don't want it.

The Revo dealer in my area will reprogram your ECU for free, if you provide proper documentation that the Audi dealer flashed your ECU. You guys might want to check in with your local APR/Revo rep.

Yes I just came back from Pacific AUdi, I was told the car is recalled for its ECU, but when I mentioned my car is APR chipped, it will be gone if the dealership did the recall and I was given the option to not do it at that time.

The CEL flashes once a while on my car, so thats why it was recalled.

Does it mean the money I spent on the chip is going down the drain?

Nah, the flash is for cold start miss-fires on all FSI engines, the flash only modifies the software level of the ecm so it won't throw a check engine light when it misses. You probably won't notice your engine missing so if it doesn't bother you, i wouldn't worry about it, it won't hurt the engine.

Yep what he said. I have seen some people come in because of this recall.
