Default How to install Sirius module in 08 A4

I recently purchased an 08 A4 and it time to add sirius.

I got a brand new factory sirius module from a friend of mine and now it is time to install.

Is there any info availabe on how to install it myself. I found an older thread on a differnt forum for replacement in an older S4, but not on a new installation.

Any tips would be great otherwise I am going into this one blind!

Thanks

Just received my Sirius tuner without instructions. Thanks a million for the help!

BTW, I assume that this will be the same on my 2007 A4.

Hi. I just bought a 2007 A4 Cab Quattro... I must have Sirius. There is a Sattelite button on the factory radio and I am being told by Audi parts dept at dealer that, the factory radio is pre-wired and all I need is the $500 module that simply plugs in to the panel in trunk. Sound right? Built in antennae??

Yes. They pre-wire the vehicle as it doesn't add much to the price of the assembly line.

What that means is that the wiring is done, as is the antenna. You need to purchase the actual satellite receiver box to actually "listen" to the satellite's signal, which is being shot everywhere. With that box, your car can decode the feed and play it through your stereo.

If that makes sense.

i have 2004 a4 avant. does anyone know whether i should get xm or sirius? i've heard there's a dual antenna issue for some models... i'm looking to buy a module on ebay and just install it on my own with out having to rewire/use adapters for this antenna fix.

I recently bought a 07 A4 Cabriolet, I have the original window sticker and it says that Sirius is installed but there is an "Antenna" error on the head unit. After some searching I confirmed that the Sirius receiver is installed and after removing the trunk liner I see the antenna is installed. The Sirius receiver is a single green connector for the antenna and it is tight and the connection seems clean and good. However in the trunk there is no wire connected to the antenna connector, it is just sitting there in the mount with nothing connected to it. I searched and searched and cant find an unconnected wire anywhere in the trunk.

Is it as simple as running a new antenna wire from the antenna connector to the Sirius receiver, or am I missing something? I would appreciate any help that anyone can give.
