How much torque with the clutch hold?
 
97 Audi A4 1.8 factory clutch, does anyone know what the factory clutch is good for? Thanks

From what I've heard (which isn't much), it can take around 250ft lbs at the wheels.

yea, anything more then a chip and you are probabaly going to notice increased wear on stock clutch

Thanks for the informaiton. Still not sure what clutch to upgrade to. Want one that will handle around 300ft/lbs but want one with smooth engaugement and reasonable pedal effort. Keith

There are a ton of options SEARCH clutchs and you will find a couple(10) answers. That why god invented the search tool

Heh. Search? No one uses that thing.

Spec or Southbend are the two most popular clutches for our cars.
