How to tell if my audi is chipped
Personally I think getting chipped is well worth it. Your fuel economy should not change much, it might decrease a little since more air = more fuel but if you don't drive like a racer then you'll be fine. As far as stress on the engine I don't think there is much. Probably puts more on your turbo but not enough that it will only last like 15k miles (if your higher mileage then your turbo might blow a little sooner) also if for some reason your turbo does go early the k03 is cheap to replace. If you only using it to commute it's up to you, I'd like to get there faster
i didnt notice any decrease in mileage, chipped, intake and exhaust. I drove 80+ from LA to SLC with the a/c on and still managed to get 31 mpg. I average in the high 20's and im pretty heavy on the gas alot of the time.

Im thinking about chipping my car. Just wondering overall, does it have a huge effect on gas mileage(better or worse)?, and the duration of engine life? I want to get more power out of the engine but I also have to commute every day to school and I dont really at this point, want to sacrifice fuel economy. Any info would be helpful.
oh yeah, it's a night and day difference.
Just see if your can drive your RPM gaugepast 7000RPM or whatever the limiter is set at on your model. I believe that chip removes the limiter. At least mine did.

EDIT - NM... you're already out of warranty.

supposedly your fuel economy goes up very slightly being chipped. That is if you stay out of boost and drive normally.. but thats no fun
