Okay so you guys remember when I was supposed to get that custom K04 software cuz it was never written for my ECU? Well.......Here s where we stand on that. I call Evolution Motorsports at 9:00 am like they said to check on how everything is going. They say they havent heard from GIAC and they'll call me back. 3 hours later I call back "just checkin in I didn't hear back from you guys" They say oh yeah sorry I cant get a hold of them, let me try again and call you back in 15 minutes. Well.........55 minutes later while I'm on the freeway on my way over there I get a call. Still nothing. Whatever. So know I get there. And here is what they say. "It can't be done, it will cause the transmission to shift really hard and eventually explode" WHAT!!!!???? So then I say that sounds like bull. Then I mention a level 10 tranny (the performance specialist had no idea what it was, I also had to explin what an N75J is) Then he goes away and comes back. He says "Okay we can do it" BUT..... and I'm making the next part big and bold....

You need; a level 10 tranny, 5 bar fuel regulator, FMIC, and have to revert back to your original N75.

Total cost of that is over $2000 after install and everything.

Tell me its BS like it sounds. He says the 2000 tip tranny is to weak to handle it. Its my understandin that it should be fine. I am not running a J31. If thats the case I would have left my damn K03 in. The only reason I bought the K04 and put it in is becasue the Evoms performance specialist assured me it could be done and told me everything I needed which consisted of A) K04 and B) K04 file....thats it. What do you guys think? Does this sound right to you? I am really tweaked right now!!! If I would have known before hand I would have never put myself in this position. Am I wrong for assuming the performance specialist knows what the hell he is talking about. Now either I have to buy another K03 and pay for install to get back to where I was (I would really F'ing hate that) or dish out 2g's to get the K04 running right (also not very happy) I cant express my anger enough to you guys. I just need to know guys. True or BS? Either way im gonna give the Evoms GM an ear full.

That smells like BS to me. Tell them you have the level 10 tranny already, if he didn't know what it was he won't be able to tell if you have it or not.

yeah that sounds real smart [:'(] - if they don't want to put the power on your tranny why the hell would you risk it. spend the extra $$ and do it right or put it back to stock and buy a manual. I wouldn't care if it was BS if I knew it might cost me a few thousand if I was wrong.

but if you do the level 10 upgrade - I would never sell the car - that thing will be built like a brick shithouse

I really don't think they know what they are talking about. It sounds like they are trying to get money and I think your tranny will beable to hold the extra boost since it's not a huge power gain. If you are going to have replace it anyways you might as well save the money now and see if it really does blow your tranny instead of jumping to conclusions and swapping out a perfectly good and not cheap tranny.

there has been little proof that the level ten upgrade is actually legit.. i have yet to see a higher stall on their torque converters. some have claimed that they just take your TC and paint/throw some of their stickers on it..


but back to the main topic. it's BS. find someone else to work with or go higher up in the company

Lots of people have gone k04 w/ 2000. The only problem is there was no file for the Q ecu. But the 2000 A4's without the Q ecu dont have a different tranny than a 2000 A4 with a Q ecu.. Someone is being lazy. You shouldnt need a tranny upgrade for their k04file to work. Just have them do it damit.

ever since i bought the Evoms CAI and realized how shiity of a company they are, I do not trust them and their tech. even if you look at their website you can see errors and in some cases un finished sentences. pro companies should not be that bad.

skip evoms and go directaly through giac or something.

OK - NuYorka ask him what the estimated torque rating will be. I've always heard that the TIP can hold 300lbs. if your getting near that I would think your ok but much over that I would get the upgraded tranny just to be safe. Ask why they say the 2k tranny is weaker than other years? they have to have some evidence of this.

They say the K04 file will cause the tranny to shift real hard for some reason.
