Ahh, tru dat about the 12v. Matt, the supercharger won't work with that engine. There are no engine mods for your car, and your horse-power is more like 170 IIRC. For some reason, I was thinkin' yours was an '01 when I responded.

 

I'm with you jazz. Its Crazy, all the hate among Audi lovers. But seriously, while all these wild eyed turbo lovers are talking all this smack, you should hear what some of the RS4 owners are saying about their Turbo loaner cars. Its all about perspective. I won't compare my ride to another Audi 'cause IMHO they are all beautiful cars. The way I see it, is if your're unique enough to own an Audi vs. following the herd I'll drink a Heini with you regardless! But most def. if you think you'll want to mod for increased perfomance you'll be wasting your time with a 2.8. And I think I would skip on that particular car if there strange noises or at least schedule an appointment with a mechanic before buying it.

 

besides the supercharger.. the 12v is more modable than the 30v, you can change more **** of it, but yes it is pretty weak[&:

What is it with you 1.8T tards. All of you can't go into a single V6 thread without spouting off your extremely biased opinions. Why don't you just answer the question at hand? He never said that he wanted advice on what car he should get. He knows what he wants. I have HAD a 1.8t and a 2.8Q and I have to say that unless you want to just race, the 2.8Q is a better value and drive. Not to mention the ergonomics of the cabin. I just wish you 1.8T mod-ready pr icks would finally learn to shut the hell up because you only make yourself sound ignorant. (i.e. the 2.8 is for soccer moms?) Grow up you pansies.

You sound like a young enthusiest. Im sure we all know after that first mod wether it be show or go, your gonna want more and more and more.

Fast A4 go with a 1.8T. It will take you a ton of money to make it go fast though as they are one of the slowest cars out the box bone stock.

My 3.0 Avant will smoke any 1.8T that is stock and run circles around it, change lanes while im on the phone and sippin' on a Carmel Machiatto from Starbucks all in the same race!

I opted for the 3.0 cause im a grown a$$ man with a mortage and kids to send to school with a get low budget. Someday ill have room for another car I can mod the $hit out of once these kids move out in about 10 years or so.
