If I buy an Audi - What Mods get me to 300hp
Noob here, I am a VW GTI owner and it is about time to give the old girl a boot. I am looking to spend about 27K when all is done, here is my requirements:
- 6spd
- AWD
- 300HP
- 2004 model year or better
- Low miles <25K
- Reliable daily Driver
What car do I buy (1.8t or 2.0t), and what do you recommend I do next. I esentially would like an S4, with better gas mileage and sleepy. Cognoscenti, help me out here!!
Thanks,
Jason

If you want the 6 speed you will need to get an S4 (I don't know of any 6 speed A4's but I could be wrong.) If you get the S4 with the 2.7L Twin Turbo you will be putting out about 250hp so chipping it and a few supporting mods will get you to around the 300 mark. If you want to go over you can go Twin K04's + supporting mods or go BT setup and be pushing a BUTT load of power!!! hope this helps!

No Josh, 2005 and on A4's come with a 6spd manual trans. in the 2.0T models. They eliminated the 1.8T at that point too (Besides the Cabrolet).
And a chipped 2.7T will be around the 320 HP mark.

i think you would be better off finding a b6 s4, 340 horsies out of the box, 6 speed, quattro etc etc
the 1.8t's have more mods available, due to age... so its one or the other

Well with 04 and up a 2.7t engine would be out of the question. Get either the V8 340hp s4 or the 2.0T FSI then slap on a big turbo and supporting mods.
[align=left]Many B6 1.8t run 6spd; I know at least 2004 model year on has it. With a few grand you can run over 300chp. My Stage III+ kit is about 340hp/332tq according to goapr.com but I have yet to dyno the car.

Been on the other forums since '04 when I bought the car and just stumbled on this one when googling for GFB hybrid valves, and seeing the lack of love people here have for anything BOV.... which is funny because people on the other forums run straight BOV's for years on big turbo cars without problems.
