Default ignition coil question

I bought these ignition coil pack from ecs. Ecs says it is the new revised coils pack for my a4 2000 atw/apu engine. Although I haven't replaced them yet, they seem too long. Can anyone tell me if it will fit

1) Open engine
2) Remove cover
3) Remove two screws holding coilpack in place
4) Remove coilpack
4) Take measurements
5) Send email to ECS requesting specific measurement
6) If they match, buy it!

Edit: The coilpacks for the a4 1.8T's are pretty long, but I think that these would fit just fine. Are yours bad?

My cars seems to be misfiring once in a awhile, im figuring it might be the coils cause it just got a tune up 6 months back.

actually I already bought a 4pack of those coils from ecs when I went to LA two months ago. I also have 1 ignition coil that is abit smaller(bought as back up).

If its easy to open up and check, I will do it this weekend. So I will keep the right spare in the trunk and try to sell the wrong ones.

If you're misfiring, did you check your spark plugs?

Also, are you chipped? Upgrades? Your spark plugs need to be gapped down every 0.04" for every ~ 50hp you add to the engine, because the power demand is going to overwhelm the plugs, which won't do as well under strenous conditions, and you'll start misfiring during peak torque/hp points.

nope, I'm not chipped......

Im not exactly 100% sure its a misfire, after a cold start sometimes at cold it seems to hesitate abit then after that its normal again. Last week a friend drove it and he said it hesitated abit longer so he decided to pullover for awhile then restart, it became ok again after that...

don't wana take to the dealer unless I really have to, don't wanna get raped........
