Has anyone replaced their factory door speakers with Infinity component speakers?

Cructhfield says that the 6 1/2" components will not fit, but I imagine that his is becuase the cutout in the door will be too big.

Has anyone made an adapter to cover the 10/16"?

I am looking at the Infinity Kappa 60.5cs.

what year? custumising doorpanels is a pain in the ***. just get your self some high end MB Quarts in the factory size. this is what i did. i mounted them coaxil style and used the factory tweeter it worked out great.

I cant remember who, but there are places that sell adapters so you can fit 6.5" speakers in there. Search on the Audio forum on audiworld.

 

what size are the original ones? nothing is bigger than 6.5/.75 thats round. theres no 7 1/4 so there no need for a spacer

 

Do the Audi's have oversized 6.5's I would agree with david to go mb quarts the Infinities are crap for quality. And if Mb quarts are not your thing look into eclips.

 

infinity's arent bad its just there are better speakers out there for not much more money. i think Klipsch might make car speakers.

 

Klipsh makes sweet home speakers i know. I would love to have 2 12's for my house from the klipsh line.

But my car has all eclipse speakers and for the money sound sweet

 

Bang & Olufsen i think or i heard might start making car speakers. Those products are sick!!!!!!!!
