Installed the K04 today GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS
 

Okay so I got my K04 intalled today and I have 2 good news and 2 bad news. First good the KO4 went in without a hitch and sounds like a fricken super duty turbo diesel (I LOVE IT) First bad news, GIAC has never written a K04 file for my particu;ar year tip A4. Good news # 2 all my mods and ecu information were given to GIAC and 2 GIAC programmers are gonna make me a custom K04, I'm calling it the NuYorka file haha. The file will be completely custom to me based on my mods and data extracted frommy ECU. Bad new # 2 I cant boost high till monday which is when my custom flash will be done. That means keeping it under 2000 rpm when I have just installed something whos sole purpose in life is to go fast. I t seems now that I cant race all the civics, integras and everything I look for are out in record #'s. Figures. Anyway I'll keep you guys posted on my progress and will do a K04 video on monday after my NuYorka file goes in. By the way I accidentally hit 3K rpm on one street and holy crap did my car jump. Monday cant come soon enough.

so...why can't you go over 2k rpm??? you can run a 1.8T on stock tuning with a ko4 no problem. you just don't get any real gains until you bump up the boost with the chip. and why is your car different for any other b5 a4, the ko4 file should cover everything up to the 170hp engine.

just realized you already have a chip...guessing thats why you don't want to hit boost. granted you wouldn't run lean until higher rpms then 2k, but better to play it safe.

My particular ECU has no K04 file, ithas never had software written for it. For the stick yes but nor TIP. Anyone else with a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro Tip hav a K04 file????? And the evoms perfomance specialist and Audi specialist who installe the K04 said stay away from high boost till I get the K04 file. IDK thats what they told me. 2 seperate people 2 seperate locations.

hes got tip, i think thats why... and congrats on the k04, its cool watching a member from his very first day with a stock car going to a k04 with decent mods.

Do It......I hit 3k ans started to boost a little and it scared the sh*t out of me. Also I had a few vac leaks and my K03 had some playin the fan so I was getting moderate performance before. With all the lines fixed and a new turbo the change is much more evident. HOLY CRAP!!!! Thats all I can say this thing is gonna move come monday, it justs sucks I have to wait till then. And when all you guys said it sounded like a semi.......your are 100% correct. AWESOME so DO IT MissionCtrl

damn, i wish i had money for a turbo upgrade, i'd be so happy with a ko4...

so much for trying to upgrade my car during college!
