Default Installing a Coil Pack?

On a 96 A4 Quattro. Anyone ever do this? Shop wants $500+, thinking of doing it myself.

$500 for ONE coil pack? $500 for 6 coil packs? Either way, its a disgusting rape. Are you sure thats all they are doing? If so, they are trying to take advantage of you. Toss a brick through their store front window.

96's only came with the 12v v6 in the US.

Its 400 for the pack(assuming all 6) and 100 for labor. Autozone has the pack for 277, does that sound accurate? I dont need to buy 6 of them do I?

sounds like you need the ignitor.
Too bad this auction ended.. But it shows how cheap you can get it, if this is the part we are talking about.

I misunderstood about what you were asking. I forgot the 2.8 has a coil/ignitor and not idividual coil packs. It looks like $277 is a good deal if its new according to other prices on different sites. Cheapest I found was $280.
