Default is installing a DV hard?

I know that there is tuturials out there for it... but me being a newb in installing or replacing car parts, im wondering if i could do it myself...

I own a 1998 A4 1.8T....

Did you guys find it hard to do it?

Should i just bring it to my tuner and have him charge me all the wonderfull labor?

Thankx for any advice

Have some metal snips handy.....or a dremel. Those one time hose clamps are a pain. If you don't have either of those...you can use a screw driver to prythem open.

and have small clamps ready for the install since the other one's are not reusable - check the hose(vac line) that goes from the intake manifold to the DV, make sure its not old, broken, and cracked.

You can use a zip tie in place of the small one time use crimp clamp for the small vac line on top of the DV. +1 for tin snips to get the old one off. Probably a good idea to replace the vac line since youre in there.

It's easyer to install then to take off because of the clamps. Just remember to look at it and remember which end goes where. Where eye protection and use a jack stand. Maybe have a flash light handy just to look around before you do anything.
