Interior Question

Some of the black and light gray "stuff" is pealing in my Audi around the radio. Anyone know if this can be fixed, repainted, something. It looks like crap!! [:@]

It feels like some sort of latex. Does Audi sell anything that I could fix it with?

Any advice is appreciated.

RE: Interior Question

Are you talking about the rubber seal?

RE: Interior Question

Yeah, I guess so. I am not sure what you call it. It's that stuff that covers the radio and other trim in the vehicle.

RE: Interior Question

No pic necessary. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have the same problem on one of my buttons (the one to the left of the coin tray above the radio. The surface is laminated with a thin rubberized material. It appears to be easily punctured, and then torn (button plastic underneath is white). Since I just got this car from a dealer, going to have them replace the button.
Otherwise, could be tough if you have a large area to repair. You'd almost need to take an Exacto knife, cut out the bad area into a neat square, and then glue down a same-sized patch with a similar material. Maybe Audi can help you source the material on this on this.

Here are the pics, sorry they're so HUGE.

That area appears to be a rubberized coating- perhaps thinner than the button, but a coating.
Tough one... Rubberized spray would be a big mess and the only kind I can think of is that rubberized black under-car weather proofing material.

RE: Interior Question

youch! i was wanting pics to see if it was something that could be bead-blasted and then redyed, but that looks a mess. i don't think my idea would help you. sorry to say, but you might want to start looking at a salvage yard for replacement pieces.
