Default iPod and Sirius Compatability

Just purchased a 07 A4 Avant 2.0T about 1 month ago. Came with upgraded Bose/Sirius Audio Package.

I had the dealer install the OEM Audi iPod connector in the glove box.

After arriving home, I realized the iPod connector worked fine, but the Sirius was not getting audio despite multiple attempts to activate the service. The content displayed on the head unit, but no audio.

I then took it back to the dealer, and they fixed the Sirius. Now the iPod connector does not work!

I took it back AGAIN, and they now state that this audio system cannot accommodate the iPod adapter and Sirius together. I have never heard this before. I was aware that the Audi iPod adapter cannot be used with MMI systems with a CD glovebox changer, but I had never heard of a fundemental incompatability with Sirius equipped Symphony II's.

They state that they contacted Audi directly via www.accessaudi.com, and this is what they were told.

Any truth to this?? In all of the literature on the Audi web site, and catalogues, there is no mention that the Sirius upgraded Audio package cannot accommodate the iPod adapter.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I don't have any personal experience with this yet but it might be worth the look:

I would inquire with them first to be sure the iPod and Sirius will work together.

I don't think the Audi IPOD adapter will work w/ the Sirius tuner. The head unit only has one aux input. It's either for sirius or the ipod. So when you take it to the dealer, all they are doing is unplugging one and plugging in the other. In order to get both to work, you'll have to run a wire back to the Sirius tuner, on the left side of the trunk, and hook it in through the Audio pass through. I'm not sure how to do it, and you may have to buy a DICE Ipod connecter to do this. If that's the case take the Audi one back to the dealer and return it. For instructions on how to do it and what you need go to www.nsxjr.com If you have any questions e-mail the guy who runs the site. He should be able to steer you in the right direction. He did my set up. I have the DICE Ipod and SIRIUS and it work 100% fine.
