Just bought a '01 Quattro (56k beware)
Just to give you guys a bit of background...I've been building up my Prelude for 5+ years and am a moderator on preludepower.com. I've put my heart & soul into the Honda but felt it was time for a nice upgrade to an Audi. I wouldve posted this in the welcome forum but I thought it would go over better in here.
I was extremly picky when looking, had to be a '00 or '01, had to be silver or black, 5speed, quattro and the 1.8T. I just happened to luck out and find this one with the sport pack and in immaculate shape.
Enjoy!

And of course the Lude

thanks guys

I know it only appeals to a select few but i built it to go fast and attract attention. Just about any girlfriend ive had thought it was obnoxious as sin and couldn't figure out why I had such a rediculous painting on my hood haha! Not to start a pissing match in any way but that car would spank the **** out of a stock a4 probly even a few modded ones at that. Dual Weber carbs, bored to 2.0L, Full race competition port job, kronic camshaft, blah blah 200hp in a 1800lb car.
As far as plans for the Audi...Lookin' to sell the rims and my winter beater then throw on some 19's-they're 17's on it now. I'll have to do some reading up on what the majority of you guys do for an upgraded intake - airbox mod thread seems to have a ton of hits. A chip seems to be a necessity right now- the car seems absolutly gutless in 1st & 2nd gear but is really nice on the highway for passing or just cruzin'.
Other than that an indash DVD and maybe a nice interior trim package or something. The car is beautiful as is with a kickass Bose stereo and really nice interior compared to most cars so i can't see myself doing anything too extreme. I learnt a very valuable lesson with the honda and that is the more you tamper and **** with your car the more you're gonna need another car to drive when its broken down!

If you are reallly set on getting 19's, make sure you get suspension. Actually youre gonna want suspension for 18's...and it would help on your 17's too. Most people think 19's on a B5 look too cartoonish. 18's are perfect on our cars. No real need to spice up the interior, audi interiors are amazing. (must be huge coming from your honda) And yep chip is the way to go for cheap loads of power.

, with the prelude you could do a million things for $500, haha. But GIAC is the way to go, huge freaking difference!
Yeah 19's on a b5 can look really good, but if you don't lower it, then it will look awful. Say bye bye to your nice audi ride if you want 19's, and want it to look good. But it does look REALLY good once you've done it!
If you need winter wheels, just keep those 17's for winters... I don't think they suit the car very well at all, too skinny, but they would make for a nice set of snows! What kind of wheels did you have in mind? If you're stuck on 19's, might I suggest 19" BBS LM replicas... they are 1050 for the set (I think) and if you lowered the car, you'd have one of the craziest looking b5's out there. It'd look amazing.
As for stereo... be very happy you've got bose, if you are into sound quality. All you need to do to that system is amplify it, and add an HU and you'll have a very, very good system. Add a sub if you want more bass... but I was using a JL 450/4 to power my bose speakers, and they just kept getting clearer and louder as I upped the gain. They were taking 150 watts RMS without complaining! Incredible speakers... I had alpine type x comps, but got rid of them and went BACK to the stock bose! Now I have focals, though.
What HU are you thinking of getting? You mentioned DVD... you're single DIN right? I can't remember what the stock bose head unit looks like. If you are double din, check out the new alpine double din widescreen dvd headunit. I think I might pick one up.
Anyhow, congrats on the car -- it looks immaculate. Refrain from paintings on the hood.
