Just totaled my car - UPDATED WITH PICS
About5 hours ago, I got T-boned making a left turn onto the expressway....by a cop car, of all things. I was doing 10-15mph making the turn, but the oncoming cop car wascooking along....no idea exactly how fast.Nailed me passenger side, Ithinktowards the trunk judgingby how muchI spun. This was under a bridge, so i got spun up over curb, through a light pole, and into the bridgeembankment. Minor scrapes on my hand and face. Both sidecurtains blew, but not the wheel (I think).
My car is dead...but I am pretty much unharmed. I will certainly be sore as hell tomorrow, however.
I was driving home from work late. The same route I take home from the office every damn day. I saw a green arrow, the officer said he had a green light...it remains to be seen who is correct. Plenty of witnesses saying the cop was right...but at least one dude was sayingthe officer hadblown through a light...and the EMT told me there were somedisputingwitness accounts when she dropped me off at the ER. So there may be hope, but its a tough casewhen making a left turn across traffic. ER bounced me after I calmed down a bit...blood pressure was a bit high (go figure?). Gonnatry to get a copy of the accident report from the sherrifftomorrow. An officerissued me a ticket for failing to yeild to a light, but never took astatement.Icaught a ride home from two awesome co-workers who certainly went above and beyond what most people would've done after a 13-hour day...theymet me in the ER as soon as they heard.
The car was a friggin mess. They hustled me into the ambulance and away from the downedpower cables(!) so I didn't geta verygood look at it. I have a feeling I'm going to be shocked when I see it in the light of day.All this, on top of having an incredibly crappy Monday...Tuesday wasgoing very well, (despitethe late night), until the commute home when thewheels flew off the wagon (literally, in this case). So needless to say, I can't wait to see whatWednesday has in store. Oh well...I'm above ground and walked out...and at the end of the day thats what matters....
UPDATE: Pictures below...thinkI canbuff most of that out? (kidding)

Sorry about your car, man. I had a co-worker who was in the same situation about five years go as you are now. He was hit by a San Jose PD cruiser, but his situation was a bit different. He had a green light, but the cop said he was driving "lights & sirens". Apparently the cop didn't pause before going through the intersection, as they are supposed to do when coming to a 4-way intersection. My co-worker got his license suspended for quite some time. Naturally, the judge sided with the cop. Hope things go better with you.
