Default K&N Itake Kit for 2.8 b5 *pics & vid* 56Kbeware

Alright I just got my K&N 57i performance series intake kit (part no. 57-0515) for my '99 a4 2.8 in yesterday. The install was easy as pie, intructions were pretty clear. All the parts fit together like OEM. Also the sound..... ah the sound. It makes me cream my pants when I think about it for too long. As for the performance gains, I'm pretty sure there going to be marginal (like 4 horsepower?) but the throttle response is a tad sharper, it feels like it pulls harder at highway speeds too.

Well worth the 3 week wait for it to come in to Canadian Tire(it was cheepest here surprisingly) and the cost was $190.03 canadian(without tax). It took about half an hour to forty-five minutes to install.

Anyways here are some pics and I will post the link to a vid I posted on www.streetfire.net

oh one more thing, does anybody know of a company that makes an aftermarket coolant tank, because the engine bay looks so nice, other than that nasty yellow/brown tank on the right. Like a billet one, or a carbon cover or something? Also does anyone make a Carbon Engine cover for the 2.8, I've only seen ones for the 1.8T?
Thanks,
Dan

Why would you want a billet or carbon fiber coolant tank????? You wouldnt be able to see the coolant level inside!!

Filter looks great..

We carry replacement coolant tanks. While they aren't CF, they are at least white, and make a world of difference in the engine bay!

Well you wouldn't be able to see the level if it was all cf or billet, if there was one it would have a verticle portion of plastic with a fill line in a small spot so you could tell.

I paid without tax $190.03 Canadian, and delivery time was 3 weeks.

Mike @ PureMS- do you guys deliver to canada, if so how much would that be approximatly?

do you need a heatsheid for that intake? most people say intakes for the 2.8 just suck hot air and are worse for the car..
