yeah, everyone and their mother wants a k04 now for some reason. they were backordered from borgwarner a little while back and then shortly after them being back on the market they were all selling for a couple hundred bucks more than they used to.

 

Looking for a hassle free bolt in and no tuning games. It's my wifes car that I never drive, she did ask for more power tho....
What would you do with the mods I have now? I plan on a test pipe when I do the turbo swap.

 

with a gtrs you wouldn't have to do anything more than you would with a k04, except injectors. it just costs a bit extra. but would you wana spend 1500 on a gain of ~30hp over a chipped a4 or spend ~2g's and get a gain of 100hp over a chipped a4.

the gt28rs is the full turbo, which would require a new exhaust manifold and test pipe, but would also give you 350 hp intead of 300 with the gtrs.

034 motorsports carries the gtrs and has custom software and injectors bundled together. or you could just pick up the turbo from anywhere and get tuning from unitronics, or revo, or wherever. mika has a pretty sh!tty reputation so i would stick with either uni, revo, or chris tapp

 

If you're looking for the cheap way, and have some down time, send your k03 to gpop and have them rebuild it as a k04. Much cheaper that way.
