If it is the flip out key, the dealership will charge you about $180 not including programming. All you have to do is take them your VIN number I believe. Call your dealer parts guy.

Well VIN and proof of ownership... haha.

But yeah, the dealer will own you... I think they make like 16 keys for every VIN... or something stupid like that. Wiiierd.

My friend lost her keys cuz some valet guys misplaced it or something. Took it to Lexus dealership, cuz her car's a Lexus, and ran into a lot of problems. If you have a remote, and lost both keys, there is no way you can reprogram a new one. So they had to change the locks on her car, program 2 new keys for her, and all this costed about $1200. Good thing the valet people had some kind of insurance and paid for it all.

Usually when you buy a new key fob from the internet, you have to use the old one to program it. If you have nothing to program it with, you're out of luck.

Well I hope I don't have to pay $1200 because as other people mentioned, I hope they can make a key off the VIN number. If you have to pay $1200 for replacing AUDI keys than it is ridiculous. Anyways, that was lexus, hope that isn't the case for Audi.

hey, ok...

1) You can purchase a new keyblade on ebay for about 10 dollars. I did this. There's this guy on ebay who, if you send him a digital photograph of your key, cuts it himself.

Pretty insane.

2) You can get a FOB (the black thing with buttons) probably for around 40-50 dollars, just make sure it's the right model...call audi, give them your VIN number, this way they can tell you what serial number FOB you need to look for.

3) You can likely put the key blade into the fob yourself, it's pretty easy.

4) Lastly, I believe it is possible to program the FOB yourself, but I am not entierly sure how to do it. Even if you had to pay for reprogramming, then it would be better than paying dealership prices for the Keyblade and spending 150 dollars for a new FOB.

good luck.
