KN Filter
is it true that the KN filter for 1.8t 99.5 will destroy the MAF? will the filter in any way harm any component of the car? just installed one in today and not sure if i should take it out. thanks
its the oil on the filter that ends up coming off and coating the maf, effectively ruining it.
I have had a K&N for 2 years, never had a problem. Usually only an issue if you put too much oil on the filter after cleaning it.

let it all out PureAudi - pent up anger is not a good thing...
but, yeah its not really worth the mod. Throttle response might be a little quicker, but if I had my time back I would probably have stayed with the paper stock filter.
Only real advantage is that you can go longer between cleaning than you would if you had to replace the stock filter.
