Default Knocking noise

My audi has been sitting for the past 2 months due to license loss. I went to start it up the other day and there is a really bad knocking sound. It gets louder and faster when the engine is reved. 96 A4 2.8 quatro

Interesting, has the gas been sitting in there for 2 months also? Maybe you have a cylinder misfiring causing a noise, a spark plug might not be firing...

I can't think something spontaneously breaks inside the motor in just 2 months. Must be an arbitrary item..

I was talking to someone about it and they said it happened to them when their audi was sitting for awhile and was knocking rather loud to. He said not to worry about it to much and that it was just the oil wasnt fully moving around and it was all at the bottom of the pan. Im hoping it is that. When the car goes back on the road i was planning on changing all the fluids in it anyway. Thanks

The hydrolic lifters colapse if there is no oil pressure for long periods of time. It should go away. Let it idle for a while till it stops before you drive. Shouldnt take more than 30 mins or so.

Nah... Its like asking if walking accross the room takes tread off your shoes. If you let it sit like that often, then over time it would.
